WAGE - REVISION OF BANKERS

Apropose wage revision talks between United Bank Forum Union and Indian Bank Association one issue has been raised for the first time by IBA pertaining to Cost to Company concept wherein it is proposed to take into consideration all the perks being provided to Bankers for fixation of new pay scales. Further, IBA wants to implement variable pay structure in which salary of the banker will be linked with his performance. First of all the question arises that salaries of lacs of employees serving in Central Government, State Government, Railways, Post Office, education deptt., etc. etc. have been enhanced for a huge some of 30 to 40% Under Sixth Pay commission without asking a single question from anyone and without imposing any condition related to their performance, so why only Bankers are supposed to receive their salary linked with their performance. Furthermore, why the hell a new concept which is unknown / ambiguous / perplexing and full of complexities and contradictions is being tried on the Bankers only. Why they are being treated as human guinea-pig for trial and success of an absurd concept and that too at the crucial point when the wage revision is due. IBA is hell-bent upon to implement CTC as if it will bring a revolution in the Indian economy but it is a dilly-dallying tactis to compel the bankers to compromise on its terms. UFBU leaders must reject this demand outrightly, otherwise no progress will be made in the wage revision talks.
